Birth certificate - Non EE application

My original birth certificate (non English) has been translated and notarised in English for non express entry application. The original document is quite old and hand written; the document was used only for schooling and hence never had to be used as much anywhere else.

Do we need an updated certificate to meet today’s standards or the old certificate with its translation (notarised) is good enough?
