I need some non k-drama recs

Recommendation Request

I’ve been wanting to explore Asian dramas outside of kdramas. I think I tried one or two but neither clicked. I’m open to any and all languages/countries. I feel like I’ve watched most of the “good” kdramas, and I’ve been in a bit of a drought. ‘Tis the season - I’m stuck indoors because of the snow. Please drop your favs!

Here are some of my favorite kdramas to give an idea of my tastes. I love romance and dark mystery/thrillers. Open to all genres though!

  • Move to Heaven
  • The Glory
  • Worst of Evil
  • Signal
  • Reply 1988
  • Mouse
  • Hometown ChaChaCha
  • King of Pigs
  • Light Shop
  • Trauma Code: Heroes on Call
  • My Dearest

Some popular ones I didn’t care for (I don’t like cheesy ones):

  • twinkling watermelon (it was okay)
  • lovely runner (I HATE this one. Aegyo from the FL made me get such horrible second hand embarrassment)
  • What’s wrong with secretary kim?
  • secret garden
  • my name
  • anything with Lee Jong Suk or Park Shin Hye😭
