Right foot injury advice emergency 🚨

So background: I have been playing three times a week. I rehearse for monthly gigs with the same band. I also take semi-weekly private lessons. The bad news is that on Saturday I slipped on my stairs carrying my new puppy and broke my right metatarsal the outside long bone in my right foot all the way through). I’m in a boot and on crutches.

I have a surgeon’s appointment today. But my larger question is what have any one of you done when in this position? Don’t want to take time off. Should I try to play with my left foot ? Please advise me with some constructive advice 🙏🏻
