Mystery(?) book about a corporation who was kidnapping kids and trying to implant their dying/dead employees minds into the bodies of said kids (cloning)

UNSOLVED

I clearly recall this book from my childhood but can't find it. Definitely came out before 2011.

The starting premise, from what I remember, is the main character's friend Patrick (could be a different name but I swear it was this) goes missing, and when the main character finally sees him again, Patrick acts like he doesn't know him and is acting like someone else.

Eventually, the main character and his friend (who is a girl) find out there's this corporation that is "cloning" their higher ups into the bodies of kids. The main character, at one point, actually finds some secret phrase related to these higher ups. When he and his friend get captured and the cloning is attempted on them, the cloning on him seems to fail, but since he knew the secret phrase for this higher up, they believed the cloning was successful.

It ends with him finding Patrick, and essentially fighting the higher up, and drawing Patrick's mind back out into his body or something, idk.

I remember the title having "clone" in it, and there was a cover of the book where a boy is looking down on a prone body of a girl with wires in her head. It was either a Canadian or American author (more likely Canadian).

Other names I recall
- the higher up the main character was supposed to have cloned into him was Mr. Zenden, or something that starts with a Z?
- the corporation or the guys who made the cloning technology were called Glenock Gen or Glenox Gen or something that started with a G

These could totally be off but if it helps find this book, great
