The Siege of Thornvale: A Race to Save the Captain

We played a quick game in Thornvale City between Pezu and Cielo, and we wanted to share a small glimpse of the story that unfolded on the table. This time we used the Civil + Military setup, fully modular, to recreate an urgent siege.

The objective was clear:
protect and evacuate a wounded Captain through the city before the invading forces could break the walls.

When the enemy launched its offensive, the captains of archers took elevated positions atop the towers, while several commanders, soldiers, artillery crew, escorts, and scouts tried to contain the advance through the market streets.
Pezu pushed hard with heavy infantry and shock units, forcing Cielo to change the layout of the city multiple times: moving houses, opening alleyways, rotating modules, improvising barricades… every decision reshaped the story.

Finally, with the walls collapsing and enemy troops entering from a flank, the defending group made a desperate withdrawal between civilian buildings reconfigured on the fly, managing to open a corridor toward the harbor. It was great fun making different decisions, even demolishing their own wall to escape.

The wounded Captain escaped by the narrowest margin, while the last defenders held the enemy back just long enough to allow the evacuation. A true sacrifice.

A short, intense game that once again unfolded inside a completely different Thornvale City:
a city that changes with the story and reacts to every decision the players make.

👉 Here you can see some photos of the siege, the table setup, and how we arranged the scenario.
