Low voc brake cleaner and plastic

Seems to be getting harder to find the older formula. The new one is mostly acetone and some say it will damage plastics.

I tried it on various plastic parts under the hood and it seems fine but other non automotive parts seem to have a reaction.

Anyone have any negative experiences using it?
