Had to convince my fiancé to go to our baby shower

I basically had to convince my fiancé that he should be at our upcoming baby shower. It’s not even planned yet but when I expressed my excitement for my first baby shower he said he would not be attending.

I was shocked because it’s come to my attention that many people do women only baby showers, never in my life has anyone I’ve known done a women only baby shower. I’ve been to May and all the men were there so obviously there will be men at mine such as family friends and family. I was kind of pissed and appalled and after a couple weeks of bringing it up he has agreed begrudgingly because it’s very important to me.

I guess I’m wondering if I’m crazy for expecting my fiancé to attend his own babies baby shower. Should I just chalk it up to him being used to women only baby showers? I don’t even understand how that’s a thing.
