how to pick an auspicious date?

fiance and i are both vietnamese, we want to have our wedding next year in california but don't know how to pick an auspicious date. he's not very religious but i'm buddhist, can we go to the temple and ask for a monk to help check for good dates with our birthdays? not sure how this works.. i've tried looking for the lunar calendar online but not sure if that's accurate.
