is shorekeeper still considered a MUST pull for newer players?

Discussion

so i have been debating whether i should pull shorekeeper or not, and i wanted to hear other ppls takes on it. i get that she is basically the best overall buffer + healer in the game right now, but the thing with gacha games is there will always be a better unit eventually. the new player banner she is on feels weird. the guarantee is around 160 pulls, it doesnt carry pity over, and it honestly feels kind of bait-like. from what ive heard and seen, its a huge investment when we only get around 400 pulls total from exploration as free to play

another thing thats been messing with me is the echo sets. a lot of the newer sets are literally tailor made for specific dps units, and they already give insane crit buffs and overall damage boosts on their own. if that trend continues (which it probably will), future characters might not even need what shorekeeper brings. so it makes me wonder if spending that much on a one time banner unit is really worth it long term

my issue is that im more interested in the newer regions and the new characters coming in the 3.x patches and beyond anyway. pulling a unit locked behind a beginner banner feels risky, especially when we have no clue how she will hold up in future metas. yeah, she will probably stay solid, but “solid” isnt the same as worth spending that many pulls when id rather save for units i’m actually excited about

im also the type of player who likes clearing endgame and having strong, optimized teams, which is why im so undecisive here. i dont want to waste pulls, but i also dont want to regret skipping her later

right now i’m torn between two options:

  1. pulling shorekeeper from the beginner banner for possible future investment

  2. skipping her and saving for future 3.x characters im actually interested in
