How "dog-like" are the dogs in the Bluey-verse?

Dogs are people in this show, as we all know. And we've seen them do things dogs can't do "for real life," such as:

●See full-spectrum color

●Sweat

●Eat chocolate without being poisoned

But I wonder . . . can they do things dogs can do for real life? Think about it. We often see characters reacting adversely to loud sounds and strong odors. Are their senses of hearing and smell as keen as they are in our world's dogs? That would certainly explain why Bluey is so upset when Bandit fluffies.
