Issues with Verbatim 43888

Hi,

I'm trying to make BlueRays my 3rd backup. I'm using Verbatim slimline usb-c burner (43888) and I had huge failure rate. With M-DISC it was around 80%, and with BDXL it is around 40%. Is it a bad drive, or I need to flash some other firmware? Or there is some better option for a drive? I've seen some Asus ones advertising BDXL and MDISC burning capabilities.
