Driving Offence, UK resident, Italian Fine.

Traffic & Parking

I am a UK resident and I went on Holiday last year to Rome, we hired a car and we went to the Vatican. At some point I must have entered a bus lane…

363 days later I get a letter(fine through the post) normally in the UK you can ignore things like parking fines etc, as not normally enforced.

I (perhaps foolishly) after a little research assumed that as we are in the UK, they wouldn’t be able to do anything.

A few months have passed and I have had a letter from a lawyer saying they are collecting on behalf of their client (the council?)

What’s the odds of them actually doing anything, is it typical scare mongering like they do in the UK?

It’s now €250, do I just take the lesson and pay it?
