Pink mold or hard water stain in dishwasher? How do I clean this?
Hi everyone.
We have a tiny countertop dishwasher that we use since our kitchen doesn’t have a full size dishwasher. It’s been here for around 2 years now with no problems. We do clean it fairly regularly. Maybe not as much as we should, but it gets cleaned once a month minimum or if there’s a smell to it. Over the past week or so, I’ve noticed a pinkish-orange color on the sides. I tried scrubbing it away with a scrubber but it stayed on. I used my finger and some came off, but there was still visible pink-orange discoloration.
How do I clean it? I already ran a vinegar wash and then I did a baking soda wash after. Still no improvement. There’s not really a smell to it. Since it’s not a full size dishwasher, I’m not sure if it’s safe to use the dishwasher cleaning bottles that you’re supposed to use. For others who have had countertop dishwashers, how have you cleaned them?
