Chance of turbine time vs steady CFI job

Hello all, just a quick post to pick other people’s minds on this. Nearing my 2 years a CFI, have about 1,300TT. The school I work it is pretty good (as far as being a CFI goes) the pay is moderately competitive and the hours are steady (steady as you can get in the northern US).

Recently it seems I might have a chance to hop in a jet and get some turbine time and a decent pay bump which is always nice and I know turbine time is worth it’s weight in gold right now

I think my only concern is the reliability of the job, I can’t go into everything at the moment but I’m worried about leaving a stable albeit low paying job and going for a higher paying higher value jet job. However if I get laid off then I’m gonna be kinda screwed. Not many flight schools are gonna want a CFI that’s practically at ATP mins so I’m gonna be essentially unemployed until I find another jet job or get enough hours for the airlines.

Is my take over exaggerated? Thanks for the feedback.
