AITA for yelling at my mom after my cat went missing because she didn’t keep him safe during a cleaning?

I just got back from a weekend trip and was exhausted, so I took a nap in the morning before starting work. My mom had hired a cleaning service to deep-clean our sofas, and they use these super loud machines. I have a black cat who’s extremely skittish, and my mom knows this.

While I was sleeping, I heard her say that my cat wasn’t around and that he must have gotten out. I immediately got up and spent over an hour searching the whole apartment complex, and I couldn’t find him. I was getting more and more upset and anxious, because I trusted her to keep him safe while I was asleep.

I yelled at her out of pure panic and frustration. I was furious that my cat had gotten out while she was the one supervising. She normally lets him into my room in the mornings when he meows, but today, knowing there would be strangers and loud equipment, she didn’t let him in and instead left him free to wander, and that’s how he ended up slipping outside.

I went searching again but eventually gave up as I had to work. Around noon, when I stepped out to get food, I suddenly saw my cat walking in the hallway. He had apparently hidden inside a gas meter cabinet in the fifth floor where I live and it is a hole all the way to the first floor, and came out on his own. So he’s fine now.

But I still haven’t spoken to my mom. When she tried to come into my room earlier, before I found the cat, I told her to leave because I didn’t want to see her or I may say something I regret. I was really angry that she had been careless with my pet, especially knowing how scared he gets.

Now that everything is fine, I’m questioning myself. I know I yelled, and I feel bad about that… but at the same time, my reaction came from fear, not malice.

So Reddit, AITA?
