What I learned during project pan 2025.

I know that I posted something similar to this a few months ago, but wanted to do a year end update since we’re now officially in December.

Bath and Body works body lotion takes AGES to pan. When I saw the other post about the woman panning all of her bath and body works and it took 11 years, I felt that deep down in my soul. I haven’t bought full sized body lotions since 2024, barely made a dent. Granted, I take a break from using it when it breaks 90 degrees outside cause I hate the melting feeling of the heat, sweat, and their moisturizer. But still. LOL.

Eyeshadows takes ages to pan. I’ve been panning a pallet since Jan. It’s currently about 60% done.

I’ve been panning my books as well. I made a dent in my physical and audiobooks thankfully!

I’ve also been “panning” my clothes. I’ve been wearing old socks that I forgot I had in the back of my drawer, using sweaters and shawls that go stuck in my closet, and realized I really don’t need much clothes wise. Maybe just some solid long-sleeved shirts and couple dress pants, but beyond that, I’m now using and enjoying the clothes that I have and content not buying anything else.

But what I really learned is it’s ok to let go of stuff instead of fully panning items. Books I couldn’t get into, straight to the donation pile. Unopened eyeshadows I don’t think I will ever get to, straight to a friend who I know will use it all up. Bath and Body lotion, no problem giving duplicates away to friends who like certain scents.

Also learned how to stop and think through my purchases before buying something. I’m not 100% there yet, still got some impulse spending work to do, but when I’m out, I know not to buy that plant, tea, book, eyeshadow, etc because these are some of the things that are just giving me agita and a general overwhelmed feeling. Now I’m listening to that and seeing the extra space my panning has given me, I’m starting to feel lighter. I can now enjoy the items that I am using, and what I am giving away, I know others can enjoy those items as well.

Hoping that project pan is going well for all of you and that 2026 is just as productive!
