48M - Eccentric into Fine Arts, Martial Arts, Horror

As the winter sets in, the days grow shorter, the darkness longer, and the cold makes being outside an ordeal. So I am peeking outside of my lair for a penpal.

I'm a US expat (NYC) living in The Netherlands. Been living here 10 years. In fact, today is the 10th anniversarry of moving here. Moved here after my wife accepted a position here with the UN.

Self-taught artist who specializes in woodburns and am now teaching myself oil painting. Went to art school here for a while here but wasn't learning anything new. My favorite artists include Heironymous Bosch, Breugels The Elder, Leonora Carrington, Dave Patchett, amongst others.

I formally train in Wing Chun and Bak Mei Kung Fu three days a week. My Kung Fu is very powerful and fearful peasants know me as The Devil Of Den Haag, and speak about me in whispers. Hoping to teach it one day in the future once I earn my certification.

Was formerly a NYC teacher, then Community Worker. In 2026 I'm going to study to be a Death Doula. Visiting those who are dying and keeping them company, helping ease their fear of death, helping their families cope and plan, and just helping people have a good death.

Books: Horror anthologies (pulp 60's-80's horror such as Pan Book Of Horror Stories), Strugatsky Brothers, Cormac McCarthy, Robert E. Howard, Ray Bradbury, Stephen King.

Movies: Horror, and anything by Kubrick, Kurosawa, Tarkovsky, Coppolla, Herzog, Lynch, Jodorowsky.

Music: Rudimentary Peni, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Discharge, Acid King, Grails, Siege, amongst others.

Videogames: RDR2, Stalker series (currently playing Stalker 2), Manhunt, survival horror, strategy, some RPG's.

Other interests: Tattoos (I collect tattoos from different countries I've been to), travelling, Cryptozoology (Sasquatch, lake monsters, etc), supernatural stuff (seen my share of ghosts, even a hellhound. I'll be happy to share my encounters, whether you believe them or not), Archery, air rifles, White Eyebrow Daoism.

What I'm looking for: Someone with very similar interests for dm. Sense of humor and absurdity a must. Someone to send postcards to of countries and places I visit.

What I'm NOT looking for: Ghosters (if you're in the habit of ghosting after a few messages, keep moving), MAGAs and Conservatives (and other such caitiffs), assassins sent to kill me (and failing to do so. Go back to your families and stop interrupting my penpal-ing), Diplomats and other UN people (if I need to sit through another conversation about international diplomatic affairs, I will start the next world war myself), people with nothing to say and leave it up to me to carry the conversation.

I have 3 cats. Two are deaf and one is a sociopath. Conversations with them are quite.......lacking.
