newbie to D&D.

we started an online campaign using dndbeyond and hero forge, and I decided to use a character I have been slowly creating for months, backstory and stuff.

when our campaign started I couldn't help but compare my story to the other members and just how...incomplete and lacking in details mine was, I thought I was happy with it, its my first time playing so aside from BG3 I have no idea about the lore so I had to read a lot...

is it normal to feel uhm, like I should have put more effort in?
