Some Qs regarding the incoming changes
Premise:
Myself: M, Full British By descent.
Her: Spouse Visa ( Marriage in UK ) 2023, presumed FLR nov '26, presumed ILR '29
Pre-income changes, so on the £18600 as per now. I currently have that.
Starting off with this:
" In addition, partners of British citizens and people on the Hong Kong BNO visa would continue to qualify for settlement after five years. But they would need to have the £12,570 minimum earnings and meet the other new “minimum mandatory requirements” such as B2 English. "
Questions:
So they want her to earn £12570 yearly, for 3 years?
She started a cleaning job for some £6K/year, but looking for a second, As we're in an owned home, and don't have major outgoings such as rent/mortgages,
If she doesn't/shouldn't be able to, what happened? does the ILR timeframe merely get extended, or does she have to leave?
Along my income, I have £34k in ready money, is there anything I can do with that to help her out, if HAS to be her earnings to be considered?
TLDR: Sub, Am I cooked?
Bonus question: so if a hongkonger doesn't make that, is getting sent back to china to get arrested, or worse?
