Looking for suggestions

Hello! Hopefully this type of post is allowed. I am looking for suggestions for art books, specifically traditional/mythological Japanese work as a gift. For reference, the gift is for a tattoo apprentice who specializes in a more dark/black and white style. Not necessarily looking for something manga related, more so traditional. Any recommendations are appreciated!
