Are there supply chain issues with the 4 pin adapters?

I've got the P1S AMS 2 Pro combo in my cart, ready to buy. I've never tried 3D printing, and after going down an analysis black hole, decided this combo would be good for me. I'm reading that the printer and AMS 2 Pro arrive for people, but not the 4-pin adapter until much later? Is this true? Is the printer just a paper weight without the 4-pin? Thanks.
