Preschool introduced Elf on the Shelf—HELP!

So I have always been against Elf on the Shelf. It is alot of work, he’s always doing in appropriate things, and it’s more lying to kids during the holidays. I thought I had more time to navigate how my family would handle this but apparently my 3 year olds preschool introduced it today and I am livid. What should I do? How have other parents who don’t want to participate handle it? Thanks in advance. Gonna go scream now. Edit to say: I’m not a fan of lying to my kids about Santa either but I’m just not pushing it and letting movies and him dictate how he feels about it.
