AITA for asking for an apology after from my brother after he screamed at me for what I think is no reason at all?

Not the A-hole

I, 18F have a brother 23M who works a job in another city. My family just moved into a new 2 floor house. There's 2 bedrooms on floor 1 and 3 bedrooms on the ground floor. My parents took the biggest room on the First floor and I took the other one, this was not decided after discussion, I just liked the room when we first came to look at the house and picked it, while my brother was in another state. My brother came back to visit during the move and found that I had taken that room and naturally got one of the rooms on the ground floor which was slightly smaller than mine. This seemed fine to me because even though he's older than me, he is not going to live at this house more than 2-4 weeks a year. He seemed apprehensive about taking the smaller room at first but then I thought he was fine with it after staying in it for a few hours. Now here's where the screaming happened. My brother had declared that no one would be putting any furniture in his room at all and that he'd like to decor it all himself. Later when we were trying to place a very big 6 shelved bookshelf somewhere in the living room he said it looks ugly here and we shouldn't put it there, to which I said that's the only place we can put it if you are going to lock your room off to all furniture. After I said this he said how I should not even be commenting on anything at all, to which I was caught off guard by and pressed on as to why and he blew up on me about how I took a better room without even consulting anyone so I don't get to say anything about what he does or does not do. I was very hurt by this because I didn't realise he had issue with that. I'd like to give context on that, I've always had very horrible social anxiety and a really hard time with picking up social cues and signals that a person is uncomfortable or irritated because of some really severe inattentive ADHD. After the screaming, I apologised for causing him hurt and left the house. Later when I came back I asked my parents to reprimand my brother for screaming at me and asked that he apologise to me as well because his screaming was unnecessary and rude. They refused, saying it was my fault for not picking up on the fact that he was irritated when it was apparently so noticable and while they do believe he was a little out of pocket it is not so serious as to reprimand him. He has always been the type of person to explode about little things, and this is not the first time it has been let go. I am also a person that is very verbal emotionally and assign a lot of value to apologies and really look at them as a way of emotional closure, so I don't think my ask was not justified, but my parents pressed on saying it was my fault and it's not that serious, and when I went to my brother he said the same thing. AITA for asking for an apology?
