Just Bought The Game. Am I Too Late?

I got Destiny 2 with a bunch of DLC for a really good discount during the Xbox Black Friday sale. My fear is that I’m too late for the game. Am I? What should I do to alleviate that? Can I still enjoy the game being this late into it?

I’m honestly doing this because I’m very excited for the Star Wars expansion.
