Western Cape, will I [30 white male] survive the Garden Route or Cape Town if I move there abruptly? Will 3 months be enough to get a decent income going? I am considering EVERYTHING that might influence me or my decision.

Okay so I'm mostly interested in knowing about Cape Town, since everything is closer and work is more, and there is also public transport available. but anything along the Garden Route along the coast would be really good to hear about as well.

Let's say, hypothetically, that I only have R40,000 in my bank account. My resources are very limited. Very, very, limited.

I can spend about 12k a month for 3 months before getting settled in and needing a salary or income of minimum R10k (depending on rent costs) to cover rent, food, utilities, transport and contract/debt.

I am considering full on work, which might be easy to get in hospitality, or part time work and starting a small reselling or service delivery business, or jumping completely into my very own business and trying to make enough to break even and carry my costs for the first few months.

I have experience in various fields, and have been in the work force for about 12 years. Ranging in experience from research, hospitality, marketing, management, coordination.
I have also moved around a lot in the past for work, and will continue to do so if necessary. So, I am used to the hustle and the rustling around and settling in, good at making friends, an energetic ball even though I'm super easy going. Willing to work long and hard hours.

I can start off with a simple job that pays less, but will then soon need to find something more substantial.

For housing, I have no problem sharing and paying for a space that is safe and comfortable, I would prefer my own private room, though.

I eat very little, and can budget 30 or 40 bucks a day on decent, nutritious food if I'm not even cooking. Which saves on water and electricity. I don't watch tv or have wifi. I don't have a laptop. I don't require much but an income, simple food,, a bed, 2 showers a day and a job. I also unfortunately don't have a car. I do have basic furniture and appliances to survive and live comfortably, but am also willing to barter and sell them if the opportunity comes up to move into a furnished space. Moving furniture across the country will cost the blood of my ancestors, in any case.

will I be able to make it somewhere in the Western Cape? Will there be opportunity for me if I apply myself fully?

What can I do to make my dream of living and working in the Western Cape happen? What is the best way to carry myself and is it possible? I have applied to many jobs there, but I am sure that being between durban and gauteng makes you the lesser option.
