Copper and Redstone Hope

:suggestion: Suggestion

When the copper update happened, I was really happy that it could be used for armor because then I wouldn't have to try to get leather since I don't like killing the animals. But I was also hoping for an update to how Redstone and circuits work. But that didn't happen. Since Copper in the real world is the primary material used for carrying electricity, I was hoping the game would go in that direction too. I would really like if Gold was not needed for powered rails and if Copper could be used instead for example.

But circuitry would make sense for me too if there were copper wires you could make from the ingots, and you would lay those instead of Redstone Dust. The dust could be the power source in the circuit and only have enough power for small things like opening or closing doors or powering a light or something small like that. For things like the pistons and powered rails you would need the Redstone block still. And you could stick with putting power adjacent to the thing that needs it or use copper wire to connect them from further away. And then things like levers and switches are most likely connected via the wire too.

The last piece of this idea puzzle helps the current need to lay out Redstone Dust in an exposed path makes building clever doors really hard for example. I watched a tutorial on a two-lever circuit where flipping either lever would turn a light on or off. The circuit was a big horizontal thing that would be hard to apply to a lever inside a house and another level outside a house for a fancy way to open or close a door. Because you can't run the Redstone Dust path through a solid wall and if you want to cover it, the wall has to be super thick (at least 5 blocks thick).

So, what I'd like is if you could combine the new Copper Wire item with a block to make it a block with wiring running through it. Want to build your castle with a portcullis that lifts and lowers because of levers inside and outside the castle? Use your favorite stone and add some copper wire so that it can participate in circuits and build the mechanism one block thick without having to lay a space-consuming path of Redstone dust.

I would love if Redstone and Copper got tweaked so that Redstone based machinery could do more.
