ADHD Medication and it’s effects Xaggatin XL

I’m on Xaggatin XL, first week on 18mg fantastic never felt better. My anxiety gone, my thoughts quieter. Can think of one thing instead of 700. Felt so happy. No side effects.

Second week moved up to 27mg first two days were awful, anxiety worse, sadness worse, intrusive thoughts made a return, then it petered out later in the week but I felt like I went back to how I was before meds.

Today 36mg a move up from 27mg to 36mg, now I did drink a ton of alcohol, so I think my anxiety and intrusive thoughts I’m having today are probably stemming more from that than the meds or both. I know it needs a few days to bed in, but I’m just wondering if it’s working.

I’m not noticing much of a difference, I’m still finding concentration hard, although it has got a bit better it hasn’t moved since I started on the 18mg. I’m still distracted particularly on YouTube if I’m using that. I still have no motivation to do anything. And I’m still an online shopping addict.

I take citalopram 20mg as well because of my anxiety but I feel like that’s not doing its job either now I’ve started on these meds.

Will this get better the higher dose I’m on or do I need a different drug? Or is it something else? Any advice would be great.
