GERD Symptoms Gone/Managable

Hello all,

I promised when I was under control with my GERD that I would post about my symptoms and "recovery".

I am a 27M who was very active, worked out every day, ate healthy, and one day out of the blue I started having brutal chest burning where I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, etc. I saw 6 different doctors in the span of 4 months and went to urgent care twice because I truly believed something else was wrong. I was on PPI's, got on endoscopy, every blood test on the planet, x-ray, MRI, etc. and everything came back perfect, every single time despite sleeping 3 hours a night, and losing around 25 pounds. The symptoms just wouldn't go away, I gave up drinking, bland diet, ate 3,000 calories a day of the most boring stuff for months.

I was also extremely unhappy with my current living situation in a state 1,500 miles from "home", and was traveling weekly for my job (Environmental consultant). After 4 months of dealing with this, I ended up moving home, getting a new job, and with in 3 days my symptoms are completely gone. No more burning in chest, can sleep through the night, eating isn't a chore, my mood has improved, etc.

End of the day, fix your stress/anxiety and everything else will follow. This, in my opinion, is the most important thing you can possibly do for your self. Take care of your self, take care of your brain, good get rest, take a break when you need to.
