Which would you pick? (one is used and the other is grey market)
After running around in circles a few times chasing seller which ended up being a scam, I ended up finding 2 that fit what I need. One is used and self built and the other one is the Costco deal that I have no idea how they managed to smuggle into Hong Kong this fast.
My use case: Gaming/Recording gameplay/Streaming/A lot of video editing and colorgrading
Option 1: Used (Picture 1-3)
$1,540 (original price was $1,797 but seller agreed to lower it, He built it 3 months ago for $2,133)
- Corsair NAUTILUS 360 RS ARGB CPU
- Corsair RS120 ARGB x 3 PWM 12cm Fan (310A A E=)(CO-9050185-WW)
- Noctua NT-H1Thermal Compound
- AMD Ryzen9 9900X
- < B850> MSI PRO B850M-P WiFi [RB85MPW]
- ADATA XPG Lancer RGB 64GB E & I # (2x32GB) D5-6000C30
- 16GD7 ZOTAC GAMING RTX5070Ti SOLID CORE OC White Edition(ZTB50710Q2-10P)
- V* WD Black SN7100 2TB Gen 4 M.2 SSD
- MSI 85OW/MAG AB50GL 7 80PLUS Gold
- Corsair FRAME4000D Modular ATX Case (E®/White)(CC-9011291-WW)
Pros: literally here already, 64gb ram
Cons: Used but pretty new so it's kinda sketch why he's selling it already
Option 2: MSI Aegis Pro (Picture 4)
$1,669 (In the US and from the website it's $2,656)
Specs taken from MSI website (Model Aegis ZS2 B9NVV)
-AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
-PRO B650-VC WIFI III
-NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 5080
-32GB DDR5 6000 (2 x 16GB)
-2TB M.2 NVMe Gen4
-850W 80+ Gold
Pros: New, 5080
Cons: Not sure if it'll get here because it's grey market stuff, low quality parts because it's a pre-built from a big company.
So my dillema is, both are pretty sketch. One is used and the other said it hasn't shipped yet.
I'm more inclined to get the used because it feels more sure to get. But I'd hate myself when/if the MSI actually gets here but I've already gotten the used pc and the fact it's a 5080 with a really good price tag.
If you were in my shoes, which direction would go with? Take the used? And for the people that bought the Aegis, how is your experience so far?
If both of these end up being scams or a bust, I'm throwing in the towel and just basically save up for a year and build one myself...eventually. I'm just tired of checking Amazon, Newegg, Marketplace for a PC and it seems like the price for PC and parts just keep going up.
