I don't really understand why people think Trapper is based on Jason.

I mean, their only real similarities is their size, their refusal or inability to speak, even though for Trapper that's just 95 percent of DBD killers in general, and the fact they wear a white/gray mask that covers just their face. And even in that regard Jason wears a generic hockey mask, while Trapper wears a mask made from bone, with a smile carved into it.

Everything else is different. Completely different outfits, their weapons (A machete and his larger cleaver aren't the farthest kinds of weapons apart, but still Completely different tools. Trapper does have a machete, but that didnt come out with his initial release) And Jason only ever uses a bear trap in one instance.

Their back stories both rely heavily on mother/father trauma and dependency, but besides that completely different situations and endings.

So is there something im missing? I mean i can see maybe the devs taking Jason's existence into account or vague inspiration, but not as much for Hillbilly being based on Leatherface, or Clown being based on John Wayne Gacy.
