Gen Z Thoughts and Feelings on Dating Apps (Looking for Honest Takes)

Hey everyone! I'm working on a project around college dating/social apps and want to understand how people actually feel about the current options out there.

Quick context: Most dating apps (Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, etc.) seem to be experiencing some sort of burnout and haven't really changed much in years. I'm curious if they actually work for people or if they feel... off?

 Few questions I'm thinking about:

  1. Do you even use dating apps? If not, why not? If yes, which ones and how's it going?
  2. What feels broken? Is it the endless swiping? Matches that go nowhere? People being weird/creepy? The "talking stage" that drags forever?
  3. IRL vs. Online: Do you prefer meeting people in person (parties, classes, clubs) or through apps? What makes one better than the other?
  4. What would actually make you excited to use a dating app? Like if you could wave a magic wand and fix one thing, what would it be?

Genuinely just want to hear real experiences from people who are actually using (or avoiding) these apps. Bonus points for brutal honesty.

Thanks!
