HELP: NFS Most Wanted 2005 Edition

I need help. I am wanting to buy my boyfriend NFS Most Wanted 2005 for Christmas. He was very specific in not wanting the 2012 or 2013 re-release (year might be wrong). I am looking online and there’s also a Platinum Hits one. Is this a different game than 2005? Or is it the exact same? Any help is so appreciated because I do not game and I am so confused and don’t want to get him the wrong thing.
