MongoDB comes into today’s Q3 report following a very strong Q2: revenue hit **$591 million**, up 24% YoY, with Atlas (its cloud-database business) growing 29% and now accounting for \~74% of total revenue.[ ](https://investors.mongodb.com/news-events/news-releases?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Non-GAAP operating income came in at $87 million (\~15% margin), and the company added roughly 2,800 new customers (total \~59,900).[ ](https://investors.mongodb.com/news-events/news-releases?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Free cash flow turned positive (\~$70 million), and management raised full-year revenue & operating income guidance — signalling they believe enterprise demand and AI-driven workloads will drive further growth.

That said, there are a few wildcard risks going into Q3. Gross margin slipped slightly (from 75% to 74%), which reflects Atlas’s rising mix — Cloud services often compress margins vs. legacy licensing.[ ](https://investors.mongodb.com/news-events/news-releases?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Also, non-Atlas subscription revenue is expected to decline mid-single digits this year, and the company has warned that non-Atlas direct-sales customers fell slightly sequentially.

So: while Atlas adoption is accelerating, MongoDB remains somewhat dependent on that segment. If enterprise consumption, AI workload growth, or macro tech spending falters, it could weigh on future profitability.

On the stock side: MDB has already rallied strongly this year (YTD up \~35.5%) after the prior quarter’s results and raised guidance.[ ](https://www.marketbeat.com/stocks/NASDAQ/MDB/chart/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)That strength sets a high bar for Q3. Analysts expect revenue between **$587–592 M** and EPS in the ballpark of **$0.76–0.79**.

**Bottom line:**

If MongoDB delivers another solid beat with strong Atlas growth and reaffirms margin expansion, the stock could continue to run — investors appear to be banking on it riding the AI-driven data wave.

But any softness in enterprise demand, or cautious tone on margins/consumption, might trigger a pullback. I’m watching closely for signals on Atlas consumption growth, non-Atlas trends, and management tone on cloud demand amid macro uncertainty.
