[F4M] Art with female nudity, and chauvinistic, possibly sadistic undertones (CMNF/ENF)
I’d like to roleplay a story where a man or a group of men use artistic arguments and intellectualization in general to justify the creation of art that not only depicts nudity of young women, but has chauvinist elements, possibly some sadistic elements too.
I will put an hypothetical example. I am open to a different setting, but if you like this one, we can work with it for a story.
In RL, between around the 1940s and the 1970s, in Scandinavia, a lot of public sculptures were made depicting nude young women, and they are still around. This was part of artistic and intellectual movements such as naturalism, vitalism and cultural radicalism. Like with anything, there were different opinions about them, but the authors presented them as depicting naturalness, youth, innocence, purity, humility, outer beauty. In any case, the subjects were very often girls, physically attractive (for the body standards of the time) and often had poses that featured a subdued eroticism presented as innocence, so it’s not a great leap to imagine that at least some of these artists, and patrons too, who were almost unanimously old men, were at least partially motivated by what later might have been called their “male gaze”. If you’re not acquainted with what I am describing, I can provide a gallery of examples about these sculptures.
This was not just restricted to sculpture, and other types of artistic media and also more lowbrow types of art showed similar trends to depict nudity as a way to be modern, break Victorian norms, or whatever. With photography and painting, but also with sculpture, artists would find young women that would be convinced to serve as models.
By the 1980s, this trend in sculpture had mostly died out, and other cultural changes affected other media/formats. The statues in public places are still around, but some printed media ended up in basements.
However, we could hypothesize an alternate timeline that differed from ours in the late 70s, where artists and patrons managed to continue pushing the envelope, and we could set the story around that time. For instance, let’s imagine a man: could be a well established artist that few people would dare to contradict, or a wealthy patron with “ideas” of his own. He wants to create/commision a work that somehow digs further into the themes of innocence and humility. Submissiveness is a concept that almost arises naturally combining the other two.
Let me make a side note here, though. This is Continental Europe and things such as female submissiveness aren’t justified with bible thumping. A man can be extremely male chauvinistic, but using concepts from rationalism that actually go against religion or “old morals”. Probably, biological and scientific arguments would make more sense.
He could also take it even further.
What’s a bigger display of feminine innocence and humility than undergoing suffering in an aesthetically pleasing way?
Not only are women physically weaker and hence natural receivers of pain, but also, the most essential natural purpose of a woman, bearing offspring, entails physical suffering.
Just to put an example, he could claim to be exploring the theme of how "the purity of feminine virtue is exalted through the aesthetic portrayal of suffering, symbolizing the natural and noble endurance intrinsic to womanhood.”
Using the right type of intellectualisation, he could get away with a lot. It would be controversial, but many fellow men with intellectual or financial power would back and protect him.
I’d like to add a note: although I am clearly referring to art and intellectualism as being used as an excuse for creating a sort of “highbrow porn”, I’d like the resulting pieces, whatever their format is, to be aesthetically pleasant. Of course, they won’t be actually produced outside the roleplay, but we may describe them with detail. I’m not going to say they should be artistically relevant, because that would be an unrealistically high goal for a roleplay, but being aesthetically pleasant is good enough for me as a goal, since what I don’t want is the story describing some off-the-shelf crass pornography and pretending it could pass for art inside the story. What makes something aesthetically pleasant is extremely subjective, it may not mean the same for each of us, but it’s something we will have to discuss.
I am using sculpture as an example a lot, but I am open to a focus on other types of media in the story. The roleplay could include scenes such as the following.
-
Convincing a young woman to serve as model for a project of this type. Could be done manipulating her with arguments that would intimidate her intellectually, or with more direct coercion if the artist/patron has power over her life.
-
Scenes where she serves as model, where not only she will have to become nude in front of him, and will eventually be rendered/photographed nude for pretty much everyone else to see later, but also, she may have to adopt humiliating poses or even undergo suffering as part of the artistic piece.
-
Other scenes that could be interesting to play are when the final work is displayed for the first time, and the model is present: the different reactions from people, her feelings, the feelings of the men involved, she having to reply questions to media, and other things like that.
