Seeking tips and advice for cleaning animal bones

Hi Coven! I've been offered some deer bones by a witchy friend from her son's hunt this year. The leg bones are going to the dogs for Yule, but I'm going to take vertebrae and likely some rib bones.

I've researched methods, and while I would prefer to bury them and let nature do it's thing, I live in Canada and the frost layer is settling in. So, soaking method it is (for this year, at least).

Though I don't have any specific questions, any Witches that have done this before, any advice, either on the cleaning process itself or rituals you use, would be greatly appreciated.
