Can't bear with Yuuji anymore.

I had heard a lot of good things about fruits of grisaia, and well, I spent hours upon hours in order to get to the point where the story branches off to a girl's route. I'm currently in Michiru's route and god, do I dislike Yuuji. I love Michiru's character and I hate how much of an uncaring machine Yuuji is in here. Well, he is most of the time borderline mean, if not plainly mean to everyone, but damn, his pure disinterest(hyperbole) towards Michiru is.... something else. This route seems more about Michiru's own issues, her own character and her infatuation with Yuuji, than anything resembling the relationship between the two. A case of wrong expectations perhaps.

I don't think I force myself to go through the entire length of this vn if he I is like this in every route. And yes, I do realize he's not supposed to be normal, he is what he is because of his upbringing. However that helps me understand his character, not like his character. And likability is a strong factor in whether I'm willing to put up with something or not.

I honestly can't put up with this anymore. I simply don't find anything Yuuji is involved in enjoyable. I think I've been spoiled because the vn I've read till now all had protagonists I like, such as Fate, Steins gate, Raging loop, Clannad, House in fata Morgana.

So, I think I already know the answer, but does it get 'better' in any other route? I found the characters of Michiru and Amane really loveable, however the protagonist....not so much. I think I might just drop this and forget it ever existed if this is how it's gonna be like.
