vol 1 confirmed it for me, maybe not how you'd think

to me neither the "lovebirds" reaction nor will flirting (while 100% out of character if they're dating) confirmed a breakup

but they were never going to have v1 guarantee byler. they couldn't have byler without will loving himself first. imo only ep 7 will confirm it

mileven parallels loveless couples

• in vol 1 we had ted calling karen ridiculous, and in s4 we had "eleven you're being ridiculous"
• i think we all noticed the table parallel in s4 where el left the table and mike didnt care (just like karen/ted and stancy)
• "what did i do" in s3 where mike repeats his father's exact words
• the whole can't say ily thing where in the end they do say it
• both called bullshit
• both gfs asking the bf to stop singing

and these NEVER happened to jancy/jopper/lumax. meanwhile:
byler parallels the endgame couples

• crazy together
• hand holding
• lost without you
• sleeping in the hospital next to them
• sleeping in their room next to them
• "that was you guys who saved me" "she saved your life for friendship (ironic)"
• final shot of s4 (with lighting between them)
• lying that their current partner did the nice thing they actually did
• will waching mileven like robin watching vickie/her bf

mind you there's more + MANY of these were in the same episode/back to back

the only moments i remember where mileven is paralleled to a canon couple is

• "do you like jonathan?" "do you like el"
• el calling mike (which will also did)
• jonathan taking nancy out of the ud and they hug/mileven when el leaves her trance (which we also had for byler)
• there's probably more since they're a canon couple but idk

moments where we see that smth's up

• "I didnt say it" "you didnt have to"
• mike running after will to apologize when he didn't for el
• mike stopped calling el when he was at the hospital with will
• mike lying in the monologue saying that he loved her since they met (the writers dont believe in love at first sight + he kept her so he could still look for will)
• why don't they just deny byler? if it's not a love triangle just deny why don't they talk abt it?

there's more. you guys know there's more, even with other pieces of media (hsm, little woman, harry potter, that tv show that the rain scene is like copy and paste) but these are off the top of my head

while we see some stuff in mike, i do wonder how they will show it to the GA. like we got some "hints" similar to those we got of will before confirmation

• "our son with a girl?"
• "flying around with all those faries" then mike flying in like same episode
• "not my fault you dont like girls"
• opened eye kiss
• he did not react badly to will flirting with will. he kept on smiling
• "no sweetie pie" when karen literally ignores el in the end of s4

it could be queerbaiting. i hope it's not but it could be, so i will only be 100% sure once its canon. i dont think they're this mean tho. not to the point that a main character would say "its not my fault you don't like girls"
