Portable DVD/CD/MP3 Player Coby model TF-DVD8501, audio works but screen remains blank

Hi there! I have a portable DVD player as specified above, the audio works perfectly but the screen on the actual device remains blank even when the DVD is playing. I checked the rechargeable battery and it looks fine, it charges normally, it has some power but it's not fully charged yet so I'm thinking that could be causing the problem. It could also be that the player was set up for remote display so it has trouble going back to using the screen. Any ideas what may be causing this or how I can fix it? Thank you!
