Looking to get something for cyber Monday

I’m overwhelmed! I am disabled and just got approved for Social Security and got some of my backpay today. Since it’s cyber Monday, I thought today would be a good day to get a new computer. I don’t need anything fancy, but I want it to last as long as possible because it will probably be a while before I can get another one. I mostly just use it for every day stuff. I’m not a gamer. It would be nice if it doesn’t get too hot since I’m usually using it in bed. A good camera would be nice since I do a lot of things virtually. I can’t really tell the difference between the $300 laptops and the $1200 laptops. I’d like to spend as little as as possible on some thing that will work well for as long as possible. I can’t pay more than $1000 but would love to pay less.
