Was let go from my most recent job only 2.5 months in. Not enough hours for EI. I have no confidence to find work soon again. Need guidance and perspective.

I’m 30, have a CS degree, 2.5 years of QA experience, and multiple QA automation certifications. I have some experience beyond entry-level, but landing a job right now feels impossible.

I know jobs are fiercely competitive because of how terrible the market is right now. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s managed to land work:

• How did you land your job?
• How did you stand out among applicants?
• Is applying for remote roles outside Canada worthwhile?

I’m not looking to complain. I want practical advice on how to find a role suitable for me. Any advice is appreciated.
