Beginning to think maybe things can get better with the right meds!!!
I, 36f have been diagnosed RA and PsA about 2 years now. Majority of my damage and pain is in my Si’s, L4,L5, knees and feet. Almost every med I tried failed me and I spent more days hobbling around and daydreaming about buying a walking frame. Some days I’d sweep the house and do a load of dishes and that would be all I could muster. I felt so useless and depressed. Until I tried Taltz. It’s horrible horrible stuff. My boyfriend has to wrestle me n pin me down once a month to give it to me. He hates it, I hate it, but we both know it’s what’s best for me. I’ve been on it about 4 or 5 months now and I literally just realised it’s been atleast a month since I’ve hobbled or struggled to take steps.
I’ve gone from taking 5-10mins just to walk down my 5metre hall way to almost forgetting I have these conditions, in just 4months.
The best part? I’ve been able to return to employment! I’m a bartender and I’ve found the best venue to work at! I was honest with them at the time of my interview and I disclosed my arthritis stuff because I was worried I’d have one flare and be let go because of potential time off, but they’ve been so damn amazing!! A husband and wife duo own the hotel and the wife is a physiotherapist so they have a good understanding and are super supportive. They always check in with me to see how my joints are going after a few days in a row and double check with me before giving me big shifts. It’s honestly so amazing! Last week I did 42h (54h including travel to and from work) and I felt pretty damn good by the end of it. 6months ago I thought I’d forever be in pain and I’d never work again, but holy heck I was wrong 🥰
