Ideas for a trip centred around Truro/Halifax

Hi, sorry for the low effort post and for posting without searching first…

Family of 4, kids will be almost 9 and 4 at the time of travel, which is around August long weekend. We have family and accommodations in Truro for at least a week, but with this being our first time out there (and likely the last for a while), we are looking to see and do what we can while not making things too crazy for the kids. Looking for to both day trips and places we can stay for a night or two.

Let us know what we can’t (and perhaps can) miss!
