Very slow desktop app

Hey guys. I just installed Jellyfin on my old laptop. I like it, it's very functional. I connected to it from my main device via a browser, and the user interface is quite fast. But I can't say the same about the desktop app (media player). It feels incredibly slow. Scrolling is very laggy.

I know this app is just a website in Electron, but why is that? I just want it as a separate app somewhere in the background, not as a browser tab.
