Move along or ask him?

Context: I been seeing this guy for the last 4 months now. He lives 2 hours away from me. On the weekends we take turns and see each other and if not every other weekend. After our first initial date he got upset after he found out that I went on a date with another guy and he asked me to exclusively only talk to him. We text everyday and he’s very consistent with that. I’ve met his family a few times and stayed at his place a few times as well. I recently introduced him to my mother. Yes, full disclosure we’ve had sex (quite a few times atp). We act like bf/gf when we’re together and there’s no denying that we’re comfortable with each other. I want assurance and know what we are but I also don’t want to corner him and force his hand to ask me to be his girlfriend. So do I ask him what we’re doing here or do I just let him know this isn’t what I want and move along?
