Google drive images downloading as corrupt format

I've been looking for answers for a a couple days now and I can't seem to find anyone who's had the same issue. I've moved a lot of my photos from my phone onto Google drive and wanted to move them over to laptop. But when I download a folder a get a zip file, but unzipping it reveals all the files have turned into ".078Z files". Or ".077Z" ".076Z" you get the idea.

I've downloaded one file and it still ends up corrupt, so it's not the action of zipping or unzipping. The files all work fine on Google drive and don't seem to be corrupt. I've even tried the desktop shortcut but they all appear the same way. Has anyone had this issue? I feel like I'm going crazy, no one's mentioned this online at all. Google just tells me that .078Z isn't a file type. Duh.
