Quitting after 6 years of daily use
I’ve lurked in this thread for a long time but never made a post myself. I’m 25M and have been smoking multiple times a day, every day, since I was 19. Lately, though, I just don’t see the point anymore. I don’t get the same high I used to, and ever since I moved to a state where it’s completely illegal, it’s been a hassle every time I try to get some.
I ran out recently and told myself I’d quit cold turkey because I’m tired of the hold it has on me. I used to genuinely enjoy smoking—it felt better than drinking and the whole process was relaxing. But now it feels more like something I have to do instead of something I want to do. I’m looking for advice or to hear what’s worked for other people. I want to quit completely, but there’s still a part of me that thinks I could probably just cut back.
I’m also having a kid soon, and that’s a huge motivator. I don’t want to rely on weed to function, especially as a dad. I’ve seen a lot of helpful advice on here, so I’m hoping to get some of the same. Thanks in advance.
