Nursery Furniture: Black Friday shop or put on registry?

FTM here due 4/26. Wondering if it’s better to take advantage of sales for big ticket furniture like the glider and crib, or wait to add those to our registry?

We’re lucky to have really supportive family and friends and are anticipating a pretty large turnout for the baby shower (some time early March). But still, not sure if furniture is a normal thing to add to the list? Or that I want to be scrambling to set up the nursery if they aren’t gifted?
