Foster dog getting euthanized

I fostered a dog for a month but had to give him to another foster for the holiday. I was informed that he bit the other foster and is no longer adoptable/ will likely be humanely euthanized. Has anyone experienced this? How do I cope? We absolutely adored him so this is devastating news
