anybody else getting massive frame drops randomly?

so the game has been running really good since 1.7 but all of a sudden i've started getting these colossal frame shits in random areas after playing for a while. like, down to 10 fps with frame gen on. my hair setting is at medium because in the past i know that was a cause, is there anything else that might be causing it?
