Purposefully Throwing Matches

What is the general consensus on purposefully throwing matches to manipulate which side of the playoff bracket you fall on?

Current 3 seed is planning to bench their best players in order to lose in week 14 and therefore potentially change which side of the bracket they fall on because they would rather be on the easier side of the bracket, versus the current side, which is harder.
